Being in nature is known to provide many health benefits. However, there are still risks associated with time outside. People must take care to maintain a healthy body temperature, remain hydrated, avoid excessive sun exposure and look out for dead branches and slippery terrain. In addition, we must be vigilant and look out for Black-legged ticks as shown above. Black-legged ticks are known to transmit the bacterium that causes Lyme Disease. Be sure to read about Lyme Disease and to remove any ticks within 24 hours. Lastly, it is important that nature be safe from us. "Leave only footsteps, take only pictures".
